About Euan Mackie
Euan is an experienced educator. He writes passionately about promoting young people’s personality development. He advocates pedagogical practice using positive psychology, therapy and ideas backed up by neuroscience. His life experience comes from the practice in children's day-care centres, primary and secondary schools, tertiary institutions, study and volunteer organizations, and non-formal education. He has worked with pre-schoolers to retirees, international youth, teachers-in-training, aspiring school leaders, and disillusioned teens. |
He has been a headteacher for thirty years; a graduate student evaluator; a coach with the Scottish educational leadership programs; Area Officer for the Scottish Head Teachers and Deputes Association. He is currently an Ambassador of the European Association of Head Teachers, and advisor to various organisations in Peace Education and Citizenship,
He is certified in counselling skills through person-centred approaches with the University of Aberdeen and with transpersonal approaches with the Psychosynthesis Trust in London.
As a volunteer member of International Voluntary Service and Service Civil International, he has served as a mentor and citizenship peace education expert at international seminars and non-formal workshops in Poland, Greece, Catalonia and Malaya. He advises on distance learning courses for the Alternatives to Violence Project which works with violent offenders.
